Itinerary

Day 1: Kochi

Arrive. Meet and greet. Relax.

Accommodation: Eighth Bastion

Day 2: Kochi

Explore the heritage area of Fort Kochi on foot, enjoy curated meals overlooking the harbor. Spa sessions for those interested.

Day 3: Valparai

Drive post breakfast via the Vazhachal Forests towards the Western Ghats. Stop at Chalakudy Falls enroute. Look out for wildlife on this 4 hr rainforest drive before reaching the Valparai plateau and the tea gardens.

Day 4: Valparai

Full day exploring Valparai plateau looking for everything from elephants, black leopards, dholes, lion-tailed macaques to great hornbills and gliding lizards.

Day 5: Valparai

Full day exploring Valparai plateau.

Day 6: Pollachi

Drive down the mountain towards Pollachi for a break journey. Look for Nilgiri Tahr, the endemic mountain goat, enroute to Pollachi on the rocky cliffsides.

Accommodation: By the Riverside

Day 7: Coonoor

Depart post breakfast towards Coonor in the Nilgiris (4 hrs) and stay among the wilderness at Tea Nest. This is one of the best areas for melanistic leopards, endemic birds, sloth bears and many other wildlife. Wildlife here roams around tea gardens and remnant forests so safaris here are informal with a mix of driving, walking and waiting along roadsides at key vistas.

Day 8: Coonoor

Full day exploration of the Nilgiris.

Full day exploration of the Nilgiris.

Day 10: Mysore

Drive down the hills towards the North, towards the heritage kingdom of Mysore. Evening walk among the Palaces of Vijayanagara Empire. Dinner and rest.

Accommodation: Metropole

Day 11: Kabini

Transfer post breakfast towards Kabini . Explore the park on safari drives and by boat looking for tigers, leopards, black leopards, elephants, gaur and other wildlife.

Day 12: Kabini

Day 13: Kabini

Day 14: Bangalore

After another morning safari, transfer to Bangalore (4 hrs) and repack for the journey ahead in your airport hotel.

Day 15: Trip End

Transfer to the airport and fly out. End of Journey.
